My goal for week five was to not have any cereals with high amounts of sugar in it. This happened to be very hard for me because cereal is one of my weaknesses, probably because of all the sugar in it. I happened to do better than expected and stayed away from the sugary cereals, yet I do realize the cereals substituted most likely had some sugar in it. I substituted Special K for the usual Fruit Loops or Lucky charms that I usually have. I was pleased with my accomplishment and rewarded myself with a smoothie from Jamba Juice, which has sugar in it, but the healthier, natural kind. I figured if I can switch my sugar taste buds to like fruit then I can be healthier.
